In our upcoming Town Hall: Exercise and ALS, we will learn about and discuss two important aspects of the role of physical exercise in ALS, including:
We will be joined by Dr. Jonathan Cooper Knock,of the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN), who co-authored a recently published paper which focuses the possible detrimental effect of frequent strenuous exercise on those with the C9orf72 dipeptide repeat mutation.
We will also discuss how many people with ALS have used exercise programs to maintain strength and manage symptoms following their diagnosis. Joining us to lead this discussion will be physical therapists Laura Good and Amanda Beaty, of the Duke ALS Clinic.
