About the Program: The practice of genetic testing in ALS has been impacted by high patient demand for testing, sponsored testing programs, and a new drug application to the FDA for the first gene-targeted therapy in ALS. However, many challenges exist, including few genetic counselors in ALS clinics, and issues with laboratory methods and reporting. Jennifer Roggenbuck, MS, CGC will present new evidence-based, consensus guidelines for genetic counseling and testing in ALS, a project sponsored by the ALS Association. A Q&A will follow the presentation. The Les Turner ALS Foundation is proud to offer this webinar at no cost to the ALS community. Thank you to the Gilbert & Jacqueline Fern Foundation and Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America for sponsoring this webinar.
About the Speaker: Jennifer Roggenbuck is a genetic counselor and Associate Professor at the Ohio State University, where she studies genetic testing and counseling outcomes and best practices in ALS clinical genetics.
