Coping with the Loss of a Loved One During COVID-19, with Nicole Sammartino, MS, & Easton Stevenson, LCSW
Coping with the loss of a loved one is hard. It’s especially challenging during a global pandemic. Over the past 44 years, we have made it a priority at the Les Turner ALS Foundation to honor people where they are in the grief process through a tailored, personalized approach, providing support to each individual and family member to address the challenges they are facing.
Led by Nicole Sammartino, MS, Community Education Manager, this webinar will focus on the impact that the global pandemic has had on our mental and emotional well-being and how we grieve the death of a loved one. Nicole will explore the stages of grief, factors impacting our grief response, techniques and coping strategies, self-care, and how the Foundation can support you through your grief process. Information will also be presented on the Foundation’s two bereavement support groups for spouses or partners of people who have lost a loved one to ALS.
During the program, the Foundation’s Easton Stevenson, LCSW, Support Services Coordinator, will interview support group participant Kathy Grandfeldt, who lost her husband, Ron, to ALS. Kathy will have a conversation with Easton about her experience as a participant in the bereavement groups as a means of coping with her grief and tips she has learned along the way to address her personal situation.
At the Les Turner ALS Foundation, we treat each person like family, supporting you every step of the way.
